Bridgeport, CT - (May 10, 2012) SailQuest Boat Show, May 18-20, 2012, at Milford Lisman Landing Marina kicks off the boating season in Connecticut. National Safe Boating Week begins May 20 and all hands are on deck for this show. This unique and family-oriented show will feature new sailboats, trawlers, downeast-style powerboats and select brokerage yachts for sale, from 20 to over 50 feet long. The show has free admission, free parking and is accessible by I-95 and Metro-North Railroad in Milford, Connecticut.

Sail and Power - Something For Everyone

SailQuest brings a diverse representation of sail and power boats to Milford (see vendor list below) along with global marine manufacturers and retailers. A wide range of boats will be on display including these brand new models: J/70, Catalina 5 Series, Destino and North Pacific 28. North Sails, a global leader in sailmaking and headquartered in Milford, CT,  is featuring a children’s sailmaking activity for kids of all ages. The staff of West Marine will be showcasing start of season gear and inflatables. Additionally, a variety of companies will be on-site offering small boats, gear and other products and services, including financing and insurance. Attendees will be able to take advantage of daily introduction-to-sailing opportunities, including sailing trips with certified instructors.

Around-the-World Adventurer, Jeremy Cage of PepsiCo, Shares Experiences

Jeremy Cage, Senior Vice President of Global Snacks at PepsiCo is set to inspire SailQuest Boat Show attendees with a presentation of his around-the-world sailing adventure. Leveraging the images and metaphors from sailing the world, his 60 minute presentation lays out the approach he takes on a daily basis to unleash the potential of his life and the potential of the businesses and brands that he manages at PepsiCo. Jeremy will speak at 2pm on May 19, 2012 on site at SailQuest Boat Show.

Milford Sea Scouts ship 721 will be on hand to answer questions about what it takes to become a scout and share stories of their adventures.

NEW J/70, DESTINO AND CATALINA’s 5 SERIES JOIN SAILQUEST BOAT SHOW - MILFORD, CT

Boats for Everyone; Racing, Power Boating and Cruising

Bridgeport, CT - (May 3, 2012) There’s something for everyone at SailQuest Boat Show. Both sail and power boats (including dinghies) will be available for viewing at the Milford, CT boat show.

The latest to join the list of quality exhibitors is the new J/70 Speedster (22.75ft). Bruce Tait & Associates will be offering demos of this first ramp-launchable keel boat. The J/70 is a one-design boat that is stable enough for family sailing with high performance that is exciting to sail.

In the power boat category, Destino Yachts will be on hand to showcase its beauty and durability. The Destino, a custom runabout, has classic lines and varnished mahogany finish. Destino just earned the Newport International Boat Show’s 2011 Best New Powerboat Award.

Eastern Yacht Sales at Hellier will be presenting the brand new Catalina 385 – one of the four sizes in Catalina’s new award winning 5 Series. Catalina has a long history of being one of the sailing industry’s major builders of production sailboats. There are currently four models in the Catalina 5 Series, the Catalina 445, 385, 355 and 315 – cruising yachts that are designed and built in the United States with custom features not found on many of the world’s sailboats. The move created mass appeal in the global sailing marketplace.
