The State University of New York Maritime College in Throggs Neck, NY was recently announced as a US SAILING accredited facility, along with the University of California – Davis.

“SUNY Maritime College is proud to join the top sailing schools in the country as a US SAILING accredited facility,” said Rob Crafa, SUNY Maritime’s Director of Waterfront Programs. “As the oldest and largest Maritime College in the country we respect US SAILING’s high standards, emphasis on safety, and support of sailing from junior and community programs to Olympic athletes. We look forward to offering Maritime students the highest level of sail training available while sharing the love of the sport with the entire community.”

“Graduates of US SAILING schools are confident with boats and can convey that confidence to passengers and family members who can feel safe in the hands of US SAILING certified sailors,” said US SAILING’s Hart Kelley.
