I thoroughly enjoyed reading Derek Rupe’s article “Adventures in Docking” [April 2017].

Wonderful interview and much appreciated emphasis on safety. I just finished reading Fastnet, Force 10. Thank you for the poignant and riveting story of the Fastnet Race of 1979.

Kate Wilson was recently honored by the Rhode Island Marine Trades Association for (among other achievements) her efforts to help revitalize the junior sailing program at Newport Yacht Club in Newport, RI.

To expand on Simon’s article I offer the following observations from my 30 years of teaching sailing and cruising to adults.

WindCheck is great – it’s important! It helps create the community of sailors. We wouldn’t get all of this timely and relevant information pulled together anywhere else.
