Beginning with the next edition, April 18 -21, 2024, the regatta unlike any other has a new partnership and a new name.
“Charleston Race Week at Patriots Point is the new event name, and it’s an exciting update as we advance the largest keelboat regatta in the Western Hemisphere,” said Regatta Chair Randy Draftz. “We will be on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Yorktown for the entirety of the event, with expanded use of the space only an aircraft carrier can provide.”
“This exciting development allows for more activation space and support for the events,” Draftz continued. “We are keenly aware that the costs of attending these events have escalated, and we are working hard on plans to curb some of these costs. Our entry fees have remained the same, but the additional costs of housing, launching, and hauling have all increased. We can’t do anything about the lodging unless you want to bunk on an aircraft carrier, but we’re working on the logistics. As always, we’re committed to providing the best race experience.”
Our priorities remain the same: quality race management, education, and a great party. Want to attend but can’t get your boat there? Contact us for charter options at info@charlestonraceweek.com. Registration is open and can be accessed via YachtScoring at yachtscoring.com/event_registration_email.cfm?eid=16304. Register early for a $100 discount.”
