Buckle up, because here…we…go! Our Godmother, Mary Ewenson, heads up the Annapolis Boat Shows and their Spring Sailboat Show is April 25-27. As it often does, that event lands right on top of our CT Spring Boat Show, which is the first in-water show of the year in New England.

Decisions, decisions. Well, you could go down on the Thursday night, check out the Annapolis Show on Friday with their forty-plus sailboats and make it back in time to Essex for our EPIC party that we have planned for Saturday eve. Aside from over sixty boats in the water and the forty-plus shoreside Exhibitors, we have music. Lots of music! Soul, rock, grunge, back to classic rock and blues, the party Saturday night will be quite an affair and it continues on Sunday! The Essex Steam Train & Riverboat Adventure will again support the event where we raise additional funds for Sails Up 4 Cancer. I say additional because the Show donates half of the gate proceeds to SU4C as well. So, after you get back from Annapolis, sleep in, and join us. Your ticket is good for any and all three days of the Show and an extra $20 gets you into the party.

One feature that both Shows share is unique and beautiful venues. The Annapolis Sailboat Show is of course right in picturesque downtown Annapolis, around the channel affectionately called Ego Ally. Our Show is in the “cutest town in Connecticut,” and takes place physically on Essex Island on the Connecticut River a few miles up from the Sound. Hosted by Safe Harbor at their Essex Island Marina, it is truly a unique, bucolic and beautiful venue. So come “Experience Essex,” support Sails Up 4 Cancer and buy a boat! Maybe some art to go with it! Check out all of our Exhibitors and get your tickets at ctspringboatshow.com.

See you on the island!
