Regattas aren’t the only things being cancelled these days; boat shows are being cancelled right and left. The reason is that the larger boat shows lack a way to present boats efficiently…and safely. McMichael Yacht Yards and Brokers have taken a fresh approach to their traditional Fall Boat Show by creating two weekends of by-appointment-only boat shows in their yards in Mamaroneck, NY.
On September 19-20, McMichael will have its powerboat show featuring MJM Yachts. This event will be held at 700 Rushmore Avenue. A week later, on September 26-27, a full range of sailboats will be presented by McMichael at 447 E. Boston Post Road. The sailboat show will feature models from Hanse, Amel, J Boats, and Dehler.
“We recognize that boating—and boat shows—are important to many people’s lives, especially during this pandemic,” said Steve Leicht, McMichael president. “We created a way to present our new boats to customers in a controlled and safe environment that is protective of both the customers and our brokers.”
Both McMichael Boat Shows are by-appointment only. By visiting mcmyachts.com/1on1 or by calling 914-381-5900, boaters can select a specific time to meet with a McMichael broker. Complete Covid-19 protocols will be adhered to with face masks and hand sanitizer provided on-site. ■
