It is official. CT Spring Boat Show is on the horizon, boats are going into the water, baseball is happening and March Madness and the Frozen Four will soon be in the rearview mirror. At the time of this writing,
WindCheck country was well represented, with UConn Men in the Final Four of hoops while the UConn Women sadly were eliminated (wait till next year!). Boston University AND Quinnipiac are both in the Frozen Four in hockey. By the time you are reading this, hopefully, one of the three are national champions!

What else is going on? Well, Charleston Race Week is happening this month. And yeah, if you have not done it before, it is kind of a must-do. Sure, it is a springtime event so tumultuous weather is a given, often blowing out a day with a hot southerly. But, there is no city you would rather be in with nothing to do but sail, eat and drink! Oh, Charleston! You are so fun and so fattening!

Another great venue is Metedeconk River Yacht Club in Brick, NJ, on the edges of WindCheck waters. Those folks know how to do one-design, family fun, corn hole, pizza and beer like few others. They are hosting the InterClub Nationals this year. The entry fee is zero, thanks to sponsor PATTERSON + SHERIDON LLP, which includes racing and food and beverage and fun. There is a late fee of $3 if you fail to register by April 7. Bravo to Metedeconk! There are many other frostbite seasons wrapping up in April so check your local listings and go race or help volunteer! It is a great way to kick off the season.

If you are hankering for more boating education, there are a raft of courses you can find from either advertisers or the Calendar section within. And lastly, you can come and speak to them in person if you come to the CT Spring Boat Show, hosted by our friends at Safe Harbor Essex Islnd in Essex, CT April 28-30. You really didn’t think you would get away without me plugging that event did you! Take a peak at the Exhibitors and Brokers in the preview in this magazine and check the website for regular updates at ctspringboatshow.com. We are determined to crush last year’s fundraising total for Sails Up 4 Cancer so come help us do it, and buy a boat while you are at it! Or just enjoy the music, food and general fun we plan on having.

See you in Essex!
