24th Annual Moby-Dick Marathon

This event includes a pre-marathon dinner and a lively presentation and Q&A with Mary K. Bercaw, Melville Scholar, titled Herman Melville: Sailor, Writer, Metaphysician (5:30 – 8pm Friday); Stump the Scholars with Melville Society Project members (9:30am – 1pm Saturday); Children’s Moby-Dick Marathon (10am Saturday); the 5th Annual Portuguese Mini-Marathon; a 24-hour read-a-thon of America’s most iconic novel (12pm Saturday – 12pm Sunday), and more.
