Oakcliff Acorn Shorthanded Program
Created by Oakcliff Sailing to provide advanced offshore shorthanded training, this 10-day program is not for your average sailor. Along with boat preparation, trainees will compete in overnight racing with coaches at their side. Included in this program is a World Sailing Safety at Sea certification. Oakcliff Acorn High Performance Camp
An adrenaline pumping experience that will prepare you for international competition, this 2-week performance camp is led by top US Sailing Team athletes and expert coaches. You will sail Oakcliff’s world-class fleet of 49ers, 49erFXs, Foiling WASZPs and foiling Nacra 17s, and complement your on-the-water training by learning campaign management and valuable skills such as budgeting, fundraising, sponsorship, and public relations. Taught by accomplished IYRS alumna Beth Burlingame ’12, this hands-on course (heavy on practice, light on lectures!) is all about getting comfortable with boat systems and learning basic wiring and plumbing skills for a successful season on the water. Day 1 includes an introduction to marine systems and electrical basics, and Day 2 covers installing, testing & troubleshooting.
