The Twenty-fourth Marion Bermuda Race

June 17 - June 28

Built upon the competitive spirit and good fellowship of Corinthian sailing, this biennial classic offers the unique opportunity to enjoy the camaraderie that develops from an offshore passage while testing one’s ability to reach the highest levels of teamwork racing a well-founded yacht. Race start date is 6/20.

Welcome to the 2025 Marion to Bermuda Race, starting June 20 in Buzzards Bay. Our team of dedicated volunteers across our three sponsoring clubs have been working hard to bring you the best ocean racing experience possible.

We’ve continued the modified class splits to give performance boats a greater opportunity to win silverware, and we will be using ORR’s Forecast Time Correction Factor (F-TCF) scoring for this year’s Marion to Bermuda Race. This will help equalize the unique two races within one nature of Marion to Bermuda. Our race continues to cater for multihulls, families and our unique identifier of rewarding yachts sailing under celestial navigation. Since its inception in 1977, the Marion to Bermuda Race (MBR) has been a Corinthian event and our core values reflect that all yachts and crew are participating for the joy and pleasure of sailing, competition, and the camaraderie that accompanies such an offshore event.

A New Division for 2025
The Marion Bermuda Race has listened. Over the years, race organizers have received many requests from the PHRF fleets to add a division to accommodate the boats capable of racing offshore and looking for that next challenge. So, for the 2025 race, we have added a completely separate division just for PHRF.

As with all Marion Bermuda entries, boats will be required to be at least 32 feet LOA and sailing with a PHRF-New England Time on Time certificate. Within the division, there will be two classes: an electronically navigated class and a celestially navigated class.

Have a J/Boat?
Jeff Johnstone, President of J/Boats, has generously offered to sponsor a special trophy for any J/Boat participating in the 2025 race. The J/Boat Performance Trophy will be awarded to the top-performing boat on corrected time, with two trophies up for grabs—one for ORR handicapped boats and another for PHRF handicapped boats.

For those looking to participate in an ocean race for the first time, there is a deep well of knowledge that can be drawn upon to help you prepare your boat and for your crew to have fun, be competitive and above all, be safe. Stay tuned to social media, your inbox and the race website for updates, news and access to resources.

There is a warm welcome awaiting you at Beverly Yacht Club, and there are the legendary parties and hospitality at The Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club in Bermuda.

See you on the start line,
Neil Redburn
Executive Director
