On the evenings of June 20 and 27, July 11 and 25, and August 30, the Classic Yacht Owners Association and Sail Newport will again partner to offer free and casual Thursday evening races for classic yachts on Narragansett Bay. These are non-spinnaker races with an emphasis on fun, not results.

This is a chance to get a bit more mileage out of all that work you put in this spring while enjoying a fun and low-key evening on the water with friends.  It’s also a terrific opportunity for Corinthian “friends & family” programs to get a bit of racing experience. If there are any skippers who haven’t done much racing but would like to give it a try, the CYOA would be happy to round up an experienced crew member or two to provide a bit of guidance!

Each evening’s racing will be followed by drinks and storytelling at a bar to be named prior to the start. Best of all, first round’s on CYOA! More information and the Notice of Race which spells out the particulars can be found at https://www.classicyachts.org/tbt/.

Please check in online or email Bill Lynn at bill@classicyachts.org and let us know if you plan to join the fun.  We can also help with finding crew, finding a boat or providing advice about what kind of beer and snacks to bring!

The Classic Yacht Owners Association is an organization with goals rooted in a shared passion: the stewardship and enjoyment of classic yachts. To learn more, log onto https://www.classicyachts.org.
See you on the water!
