This six-day program at Mystic Seaport Museum is for sailors ages 10 - 13 who already have basic sailing skills. Each day campers learn to sail traditional Dyer Dhow dinghies, and during afternoon apprenticeships campers can choose to focus on marine science, astronomy, marlinspike seamanship, and other traditional maritime skills such as art and music under the guidance of Museum experts. Mystic Seaport Museum Independence Day Celebration
Celebrate America’s birthday circa 1876 with boat races on the Mystic River, a pedestrian walking race around the Green, military exercises with the “boys in blue,” an old-fashioned children’s spelling bee, a parade, a concert on the Village Green by the Mystic Silver Cornet Band, and more. Hosted by Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, Connecticut, this event features a dazzling display of approximately 35 vintage vessels including cruisers, sailboats and runabouts.
