Taught by accomplished IYRS alumna Beth Burlingame ’12, this hands-on course (heavy on practice, light on lectures!) is all about getting comfortable with boat systems and learning basic wiring and plumbing skills for a successful season on the water. Day 1 includes an introduction to marine systems and electrical basics, and Day 2 covers installing, testing & troubleshooting.

This annual fundraising summer party for the Seamen’s Church Institute has a fresh look and location for the organization’s Centennial year. Whether you choose to channel soft rock vibes of the 1970s and ‘80s or sport crisp cotton and preppy stripes – get nautical and get your groove on! The evening will include entertainment, cocktails, appetizer stations and exciting raffle items to raise money in support of Seamen’s unique programs and services supporting Newport’s maritime heritage.
