New Bedford Yacht Club

Hosted by New Bedford Yacht Club in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts and first sailed in 1932, the Whalers Race is open to all yachts with a minimum LOA of 21 feet, including Multihulls with a NEMA rating and PHRF Monohulls in Spinnaker, Non-Spinnaker, Double-handed Spinnaker and Double-handed Non-Spinnaker classes. The race starts and finishes outside Padanaram Harbor, and the course includes marks off Cuttyhunk Island, Nomans Land and Block Island.

A racing tradition since 1932 and hosted by New Bedford Yacht Club, this event kicks off the 2022 offshore season with long (103nm) and short (76nm) courses navigating Vineyard Sound, Buzzards Bay, Rhode Island Sound and Block Island waters.
